For licensed contractors — kitchen & bath first
Paid written opinion work in your trade — no jobs, no sales calls.
Homeowners pay a flat $75 for a written second opinion from a licensed contractor. You claim requests in your trade and service area, deliver a structured written opinion within 48 hours of claiming, and receive $60 per delivered opinion. It's desk work, on your schedule.
Right now, a homeowner in [area] has already posted and paid for a Kitchen & Bath opinion. It's sitting in the open pool, and no contractor in that trade is approved yet. If you sign up and pass admin review, it's claimable immediately. Full disclosure on whose project it is, further down.
License number and issuing state required. Approval is a human admin review.
How it works
Step 1
Sign up with your license
License number, issuing state, trade specialties, service area. You'll sit as “pending review” until an admin approves you — more on that below.
Step 2
Claim what fits
Browse open requests in your trade and area, and claim the ones that suit you. No bidding, no competition — a request goes to the one reviewer who claims it.
Step 3
Deliver within 48 hours
Write a structured opinion — about 30–60 minutes of real work, on a clock that starts when you claim (working time, not waiting time).
Step 4
Get paid $60
Each delivered opinion pays $60. Your public rated profile grows with every delivery.
The pay
| Homeowner pays | $75 flat — one fee, one project, one trade |
|---|---|
| You receive | $60 per delivered opinion |
| Propinion keeps | 20% ($15) — the payment rails, claim system, profile, and review |
Flat and fixed. The homeowner pays $75; you keep $60. There's no other money in the story — no fees to join, no commission on any work you do later, no upsells. You're paid after you deliver.
Approval & the “Licensed & Verified” badge
Signup puts you in as pending review. A human admin — not a bot — checks your license against the public state board lookup and flips approval. Only approved contractors can claim requests, and only approved profiles carry the “Licensed & Verified” badge. Being straight with you: automated license verification is on our roadmap, not the present.
Your rated profile
Every delivered opinion builds a public profile: license status, trade specialties, service area, and ratings — and ratings only ever come from real delivered opinions. Approved reviewers carry the “Licensed & Verified” badge. It's a reputation asset that's yours.
On your schedule — and no, you're never selling anything
No jobs to bid
You're reviewing photos, quotes, and descriptions in writing — never competing for contracted work.
No sales calls, no door-knocking
You never call or visit a homeowner. This is written work.
Claim when the week allows
If a deadline doesn't fit, don't claim; requests return to the pool if missed — no penalty beyond the lost payout.
A real deadline: 48 hours from claim
Missed deadlines auto-un-claim and return the request to the open pool, and the homeowner is notified so someone else can pick it up.
Questions contractors ask
Is there actual work right now?
One real paid request — a Kitchen & Bath opinion in [area] — is in the open pool today, unclaimed, because no contractor in that trade is approved yet. Pass review and it's claimable immediately. Beyond that, we're brand new: requests are just starting to come in, so we won't promise volume. What we can promise is the shape of the work and the $60 per delivered opinion.
Whose project is that request?
Full disclosure — that first paid request was posted by our founder to prove the payment and claim flow end to end with real money. Your payout on it is real: $60 on delivery, like any other opinion.
How does approval work?
You sign up with your license number and issuing state; you sit pending review until an admin checks the license against the public state board lookup and approves. Only approved contractors can claim. No automated verification yet — that's roadmap, not present.
What kinds of projects will I review?
One project in one trade — kitchen & bath first. Whole-home renovations and new builds are out of scope, so every request is sized for one reviewer in one trade.
What if I claim and can't deliver in time?
The deadline is 48 hours from claim. A miss auto-un-claims the request and returns it to the open pool so another contractor can take it; the homeowner is notified. You're paid per delivered opinion, so the miss just means the request moves on.
Is this a lead-gen scheme?
No. The homeowner pays for the opinion; you get paid to write it. No referral fees, no commissions, no upsell on later work. The only money in the story is the $75 split $60 / $15.
I'm [Your Name], a licensed home-improvement contractor, and I'm building Propinion. I review each contractor application myself at this stage — if you sign up, a human checks your license before you can claim anything. I built the contractor side around the work I'd take myself: paid desk work in your own trade, none of the bidding and chasing. If you have questions, reply to the email that brought you here — a human answers.
